Adeline comes from a background of tragedy, having lost her parents young and relying on her three supportive brothers. Her character is driven by a desire to ensure the success of Vanessa and Kael's relationship, which runs deeper than just plot manipulation.

Enoch, the family head, is happily married to Therese and has a good rapport with Adeline. Leo is the commander of the Fidel Knights, and Simeon, the upcoming High Priest, adds another layer to the dynamics. The story unfolds with Adeline's amusing and determined efforts to bring Kael and Vanessa together, often resorting to tactics that inadvertently attract his interest.

One instance involves Adeline, disguised as a man, interacting with mercenaries and unknowingly crossing paths with Kael during a recruitment process. The storytelling is decent, but not groundbreaking; it unfolds predictably. The author does excel in fleshing out the characters' emotions and thoughts, which adds depth. However, I feel the conclusion was somewhat hurried, especially when considering the slower pace at some parts – personally, I would have preferred a more concise wrap-up. Overall, it's an entertaining read with engaging characters committed to their goals.
